Logic Pro is a professional music production software developed by Apple. It is one of the most potent and popular Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) among professional music makers, from producers and composers to sound designers. Before buying it for $199, download Logic Pro for free to experience it first.
Download Logic Pro for free
Step 1: Download the installation file of Logic Pro for free. Extract the zip file on Mac and open the DMG file to install the application.
Step 2: Drag and drop Logic Pro free into the Applications folder to install the application.
Step 3: Open Logic Pro and select a mode. This step only affects the layout of the tools in the project, and any mode must load the same sound libraries.
- Simplified Mode: For Logic Pro beginners, easy access to core features and quick music production. You can still enable pro tools in Settings > Advanced.
- Complete Mode: For experienced users, it has full professional tools.
Step 4: Grant permission to install basic sound libraries for Logic Pro for free.
Step 5: Download more advanced sound libraries. Click Download More Sounds, check the sound libraries you need, and click the Install button. If you skip this step, you can return to Sound Library > Open Sound Library Manager.
Step 6: Download the Session Player Instruments. You can download the complete set or select the instrument you want to use to save space.

Getting Started with Logic Pro
I find most interesting in this part, discovering Logic Pro for the first time and sharing his experience with the community.
Customize settings
Logic Pro’s settings are intuitive, with many options that a music maker would understand and care about. The Advanced tab will allow you to enable Complete Mode, unlocking all the powerful features like automation, surround, score, and environment.
Create your first project
I chose Empty Project for the first project because it was basic and easy to get used to the Logic Pro interface.
I will choose Session Player as the Drummer for the Track because the musical instrument icon looks attractive.
Wow, this is the internal interface of the project. It has a Drummer – Pop Rock sound available. After pressing the Space button to play the music, I swayed to the beat, and the sound was as good as listening live at a music performance.
Logic Pro has many layouts to suit each type of track. Overall, I feel Logic Pro’s interface is more beautiful and easier to use than Adobe Audition for Mac.

According to my research, Logic Pro has been used by many famous artists for their hits. For example, the album “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?” was produced by producer Finneas using Logic Pro X in his home studio (Source: Wikipedia).
Save and export music
- Save project: Go to the File menu and select Save As.
- Export to music file: Go to the File menu, go to Bounce, and select Project or Section. Here, we can choose the file format as MP3 and Bit Rate as 320 kbit/s, high-quality sound, and compatible with all devices.
