An emulator lets you use an Android smartphone environment on your computer. In other words, it allows you to run mobile apps right on your PC or laptop.
There are many Android emulators you can download for your computer, such as BlueStacks, Koplayer, Noxplayer, Memuplay… In this article, I will use BlueStacks to show you how to post a status on Zalo from your PC.
BlueStacks is an Android emulator for PC and laptop that supports most Android versions. It also delivers clear, sharp visuals and is fairly simple to use. Its interface isn’t much different from a smartphone, which makes it easy to get started with, so I chose it for this guide.
Install BlueStacks software on your computer
Step 1: Go to bluestacks.com to download the installer, then open it to install.
Step 2: When the installer window appears, click Install Now and wait for the installation to finish.
After installing BlueStacks, sign in with your Google account and use the Google Play Store just like on your phone. Note that the emulator only runs online apps. It can’t replace text messaging and other built-in phone functions.
How to post a status on Zalo on PC with BlueStacks
Step 1: Open BlueStacks on your computer, search for Zalo in the search bar, and click the Zalo app.
Step 2: BlueStacks will open the Zalo page in the Google Play Store. Click the Install button.
Step 3: Open Zalo in the emulator and log in to your account.
Step 4: Click Timeline (the clock icon) to see your friends’ posts, just like on your phone. At the top of the Timeline, you will see the prompt “How are you today?”. This is where you write your status, the same as on your phone.
Now write your post right on your computer. You can add photos or videos, set the post’s privacy (who can and can’t see it), or tag friends. Finally, click the post button in the upper right corner.
Things to note when posting on Zalo with an emulator
A phone emulator lets you post on Zalo from your PC. This is handy for people who work on a computer most of the day or sell online through Zalo… However, keep the following in mind when using Zalo in an emulator:
- Zalo treats the emulator as a phone, so once you log in on the emulator, Zalo on your real phone will be logged out automatically.
- Photos you post from Zalo in the emulator come from your laptop or PC.
- Besides posting statuses, photos, and videos, you can change the text color and font of your status, just like on your phone.
- Keep your emulator updated to the latest version so it runs smoothly and posts faster.
How to use Zalo on PC to chat
To chat on your PC, you don’t need an emulator. Download the official Zalo desktop app for Windows or macOS, open it, and scan the QR code with the Zalo app on your phone (or log in with your phone number and password).
Unlike the emulator, the desktop app doesn’t log you out of Zalo on your phone, so you can chat on both devices at the same time. It is also the better choice for sending large files and images from your computer. The only thing it lacks (at the time of writing) is posting a status, which is why the emulator method above is still useful.
