Creating multiple Google Merchant Center accounts under one Gmail account makes an advertiser’s work much more convenient. As you know, each Gmail account can only create one Merchant Center account. That is fine for individual business owners who run their own ads. But for advertisers working with clients, it is a different story. Before learning this trick, we usually created a new Gmail account for each client, or “bothered” clients to lend us their Gmail login details.
So how can you create multiple Merchant Center accounts under one Gmail account? Luckily, Google offers a solution called multi-client accounts, and I will walk you through it in this article.
Benefits of Google Merchant Center multiple accounts
A multi-client account has several benefits. First, you get multiple Merchant Center accounts under one Gmail account instead of creating lots of Gmail accounts, which takes a lot of time.
Second, you have more control over your Google Shopping campaigns and no longer need to bother clients about login details.
Third, you can easily manage and compare product feeds across different accounts. If you run Google Ads for clients, a multi-client account is well worth setting up.
How to request a multi-client account
Step 1: Go to Google Merchant Center > click the settings icon > select Account settings > click Advanced account setup mode > click Request conversion.
Step 2: Fill in the form as instructed.
- Name: Your full name.
- Contact email: Google will use this email to contact you. It does not have to be the same as your Merchant Center email.
- Merchant Center account ID: Log in to Merchant Center and copy the ID of any account in the upper right corner.
- Merchant Center login email: The email that will get permission to manage the client accounts.
- Google Ads customer ID: The ID of any Google Ads account under your email.
- Why you’re requesting a multi-client account: I want to submit feeds on behalf of a client.
- Select the country you are targeting: Vietnam.
- Website URL(s): Enter a few websites you want to use Merchant Center for. Pick websites that let people buy online.
- Would you like a Google representative to reply by email or call you: It’s up to you. I chose both so I could hear back either way.

Once you have filled in everything, double-check that it is correct, then click Submit. You will see the following message.
Step 3: Wait for the Google support team to reply through the contact details you provided.
It usually takes 1 to 2 days to hear back from Google support, so check your email first. You will receive an email with the result like this.
After that, go to Merchant Center and start using your multi-client account.
Create multiple Merchant Center accounts
Log in to Merchant Center again and you will see a new Accounts section in the left menu. Click it to manage your accounts. To create a new one, click the round plus button.
Enter the store name and website, then click Save to create a new Merchant Center account. Repeat for each client. Then just grant access to your client’s Gmail account and you’re done.
